ACCA Qualification Changes from 2027: What Students Should Know

✎ NPA Global 📅 14 October 2026

ACCA has announced that it is evolving its qualification, with a redesigned structure expected to roll out from 2027. If you are starting ACCA now or are part-way through, here is what you should know — and what not to worry about.

What is changing?

ACCA has outlined a refreshed qualification with updated exam levels, a stronger focus on digital and professional skills, and more flexibility in how practical experience can be gained. Commentary from training providers suggests the first exams under the new structure are planned for 2027.

Details and timelines can change. Always rely on ACCA’s official announcements at accaglobal.com rather than third-party summaries — including this one.

What happens to exams you have already passed?

Whenever a professional body changes its syllabus, it publishes transition rules that map existing passes and exemptions to the new structure. Students who are already progressing are generally given credit for completed work. Your passes are not wasted.

Should you wait for the new qualification?

For most students, no. Waiting delays your career by a year or more, and the core skills — financial reporting, audit, management accounting, strategy — remain the foundation of any version of the qualification. Starting now also means you may complete a large part of the current structure before any change applies to you.

How NPA Global supports students through the change

  • We track ACCA’s official transition guidance and update study plans accordingly.
  • Your mentor will advise on paper sequencing so you get maximum credit under the transition rules.
  • Counselling sessions cover the change in plain language for students and parents.
